In het huis op de hoek van onze oude straat woonde een oude man. De dag voordat hij stierf vond ik een kartonnen doos met zijn meest waardevolle bezittingen op mijn deurmat. Boeken, CD’s, cassettes, dvd’s en videobanden. Werk waar ik nog nooit van had gehoord gemaakt door mensen die voor mij onbekend waren. Ik wilde me erin verdiepen. Ik wilde er meer over leren. Maar dat bleek onmogelijk. Alles was onherleidbaar.  Al het werk leek niet te bestaan….

The Things I Never Told You is een voorstelling over halve waarheden en hele leugens, identiteit, obsessie, medicatie, angst en de dingen die je achterlaat. Een voorstelling voorgelezen door een acteur die belooft dat geen woord gelogen zal zijn. Hopelijk maakt belofte geen schuld….

De voorstelling is Nederlandstalig.

Yet Honnef’s genial nature means that even if he is a compulsive liar – or, worse, completely off his rocker – he still comes across an altruistic sort at heart. Backed by this likeability, Honnef’s shaggy dog stories are a pleasant diversion that can be interpreted as nothing more than that, or a touching insight into mental illness and depression, or a metaphysical examination of the nature of human perception.” (TheWeeReview)
